This was certainly a fascinating discussion, and Dr. Kruse is a super interesting guy. I often discussed how longevity has always been a hobby of mine, and Dr. Kruse certainly gave me a lot to think about. His insights on Nayib Bukele’s plan to decentralize El Salvador definitely piqued my interest. While I’m not ready to recommend clients choose El Salvador for their own Plan-B, it is certainly a country worth keeping an eye on in the coming years.

But what I also love about him is his ability to see beyond the theoretical and apply the ideas of Austrian economics and human action to the current real-world scenarios we see playing out. 

While we can’t predict the specifics, the trends are clear, and the doors to many countries will likely be closing, especially if a world war scenario plays out. This is why I always encourage everyone to act now when it comes to crafting your Plan B scenario.

I was so glad to have Benny Lewis on the show. Believe it or not, I’ve been wanting to get him on since I first started this podcast over five years ago! As you can see Benny’s approach to learning a new language is vastly different from that of many of the language apps and programs you’ll typically find out there.

At the end of the day, there is simply nothing that can replace just getting in there and speaking the language, and the sooner you can start doing that regularly, the faster you’ll become a fluent communicator.

Azerbaijan is a country that doesn’t get a ton of attention from expats – and for understandable reasons. But I always make a point to do my due diligence on the ground so I can speak real-world experience when informing my audience and client about their options for seeking more freedom in the world. 

Remember, there’s no “Shangri-La,” perfect libertarian country out there. It’s about finding the right balance that’s best for your own personal situation, and it’s my sincere hope that in-depth reports like the ones you’ve heard over the last month provide insights that you’ll never get from a tourist guidebook or a government website.

It’s a lovely place and one certainly worth visiting at a minimum. But it does bring a lot of baggage as far as a Plan-B location for expats goes, many of which concern the geopolitical situation and the constant problem with its’ neighbour, Azerbaijan.

As you can tell from this episode, I don’t like to sugarcoat anything or overhype a country when I am investigating it for clients and potential clients. As I’ve said many times, there is no “Shangri La” perfectly free country that exists, and that’s why I always set my feet on the ground in a country and go through residency processes myself so that I can relay the reality to my clients, and I take the same approach with this podcast when discussing these countries. 

As with any other country, Georgia has a mix of good and bad qualities, and only you can be the final judge on which countries strike the right chord with you.

Well, that’s it for my trip to Turkey. While I went into this episode with the plan to discuss my entire trip, the conversation about Turkey and the efforts I am making to achieve my citizenship by investment was plenty enough to fill its own episode. 

In a perfect world, I’d only have positive things to report about the process, but one of the reasons I do these programs is to find the roadblocks so that my clients don’t have to. And rest assured, when it’s all said and done, I will be the owner of a Turkish passport.
