276: Mikkel’s Travel Chronicles – Unforgettable Adventures

Episode 276 - Mikkel's Travel Chronicles

This past year has been full of great opportunities to visit a bunch of new countries.

Longtime listeners know how much I love travelling and exploring the world, so I thought we would give you a bit of a highlight reel of some of the places that I got to see and some of the insights that I learned from the past year of travels.

As you all know, I don’t pull punches or mince words – so this episode features stories of all varieties – the good, the bad and yes, even the ugly. Enjoy!

  • Find out how I first got the travel bug well over twenty years ago and haven’t stopped travelling since.
  • Learn an important lesson about travel safety and situational awareness from a recent trip to Turkey.
  • Hear some stories from my trip to Georgia, including my interesting conversation with a baseball-bat-wielding cabbie.
  • Listen in to my initial impressions of Armenia upon arriving in its capital city of Yerevan.
  • Discover the crazy roundabout way I had to get from Armenia to Azerbaijan due to the border between the two neighbouring rival countries being closed.
  • Find out how I had to navigate some of the wildest airline snafus I have ever experienced on my journey back from the “Liberty In Our Lifetime” conference in Prague.
  • Get a behind-the-scenes look at what my Expat Exploration & Investment Tours are like as I provide a glimpse into our recent Uruguay tour.
  • Hear about my very first trip to Paraguay and the great potential I see for investment opportunities in that country.

This year has been one of the most active travel years I’ve had in recent memory, and certainly the most travel I’ve done since the ‘scamdemic.’ And I got to inch closer to my goal of visiting every country in the world with first-time visits to places like Armenia, Azerbaijan and Paraguay.

I am just beginning to make plans for various exploratory trips and client tours for 2024, and you can rest assured you’ll hear about all of them right here on the Expat Money Show. See you all next Wednesday!
