    Hi,
I am a semi-retired entrepreneur living in Belize City who introduced agency advertising to this country in the 1970s. I have recently been working on a project to manufacture toothpaste, and develop tourism in the central coastal area adjacent to the City; but have been receiving stiff resistance from the government.
The project calls for manufacturing toothpaste from dead and discarded marine corals, coral debris, but the government claims that gathering such coral debris will damage the environment. I know better but don’t have the resources to prove it. Coral debris can be gathered from various locations, it can even be found on dry land, of example at Rocky Point on Ambergris Caye.
Its selective removal, under supervision of the Fisheries Department, will do no ecological harm, and will certainly aid our economy. Along with that we are proposing development of the huge tourism potential in the Gallows Point area adjacent to the reef.
Convincing the government will take the expertise of a marine biologist, which we don’t have so we invite you to join us. The Gallows Point development is self-explanatory.
We would appreciate hearing of your interest, and remain
    Very truly yours,
    Howard A. Frankson

    Hi Howard,
Thanks for your message! Anything related to touching the reef is definitely a touchy subject, but I am glad to see you are doing your research and helping others to learn as well! The country is an entrepreneur haven, which seems perfect for your passion and skills, and it’s neat to see you are using your abilities to better the country.

    Thanks for tuning in,
    Rachel
